A Brief History of John Baldessari

Picture 58

Had to share this!  John Baldessari’s life in less than 6 minutes narrated by Tom Waits?  Yes please.  Did you know he is 6’7″?  Did you know he carries nothing in his pockets?  Did you know he has a dog named Giotto?  Click the picture below to watch the video.  And yes, you will be remembered as the guy who put dots over people’s faces, but we love you for it.

Every young artist should know three things (according to John Baldessari):

1. Talent is cheap

2. You have to be possessed (which you can’t will)

3. Be at the right place at the right time

I will not make anymore boring art.  I will not make make anymore boring art.  I will not make make anymore boring art.  I will not make make anymore boring art.  I will not make make anymore boring art!
