BACKGROUND
H. John Thompson was born in 1979 in Bucks County, PA. He continues to live and work in Bucks County and Philadelphia. Inspired by the vernacular culture of 20th Century industrial labor practices, Thompson integrates his family’s verbal history as he continually revisits his own childhood through his work. Considering these notions of individual and social development, Thompson maintains a rigorous practice at multiple institutions that includes educational and curatorial work.
