Other Pieces of Spaces is a new installation by Napoleon member H. John Thompson. Taking cues from author George Perec’s landmark text, Species of Spaces and Other Pieces, Thompson integrates the aesthetic of his suburban hometown as he responds to Perec’s observations on our attempts to individuate space within a communal existence. This installation is a continuation of Thompson’s work as he maintains a question of the American dream, asking if (and should) privacy and ownership continue to be a part of that promise.
