Pleased To Be Reviewed!

A write-up about our current show ‘Pleased To Meet You’ by Alyssa Greenberg of the ArtBlog.
The review begins outlining the purpose of the August exhibition:
Housed in the closet-sized space of Napoleon, “Pleased to Meet You” is an apropos name: The three artists, whose work occupies the room, provide a brief, concise introduction to their style and inspirations, just that, nothing more. The choice of pieces on display is a teaser, a carefully-selected sample of what defines each artist.
Greenberg goes on to express what the artists have in common. “Alexis Nutini, Christina P. Day and Matt Ziemke — three new members of the artist-run space — are all skilled at repurposing symbols, but each approaches his or her work with a different objective in mind.” We at NAPOLEON couldn’t agree more–there is something about these members that makes them and their work feel like kin, but at the same time, each is doing such different things from what we have seen before. We are very proud of this exhibition and what they plan to do with our gallery in the coming year.
