Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz

Did you all notice the handsome red trailer selling coffee outside the 319 N. 11th last night?

I took part in the hot cupped brew and also walked away with the artists’ statement about the endeavor.

Matthew Craig and Kristen Mills are the two artists behind The Cloud Project.  Some may wonder how selling coffee is an art project.  Some might call the project relational aesthetics.  To Craig and Mills, the project is “simple.”  In their statement, it says, “We want to reach an audience in ways that are less expected than inside a gallery setting.  Ultimately, the purpose is to engage.”

The goal of the project is to “blur” the line between artist and viewer, a situation Craig and Mill embrace as “collapsing” in the contemporary art world.
