The Jewish Voice & Herald Interviews Leslie Friedman

fun-guys-postcardThe Jewish Voice and Herald highlights Leslie Friedman’s solo exhibition, “Fun Guys: Exploring Jewish Stereotypes”

In the article, Nancy Kirch reveals Leslie’s influences that have shaped her as a skillful printmaker – and offers Leslie’s take on Jewish stereotypes and identity politics.

In the article Leslie says, the show puts issues on the table to provoke discussion, not to insult people, but “when talking about stereotypes, inevitably there will be sensitive topics.” In addition to the exhibition, Leslie will also be teaching a screen-printing class: “Pinot and Print-making” for members of The RING in Providence. The show will also act as a springboard for a panel discussion on stereotypes in March.
