NAPOLEON in MIAMI: Temporary Shelter

Temporary Shelter
an exhibition by NAPOLEON featuring members Christina P. Day, Leslie Friedman, and Tamsen Wojtanowski at Artist-Run in Miami during Art Basel 2015
Hotel rooms are imbued with the stories of everyone who has ever unlocked the door, turned on the light, and called this place home for a night. Transitory stories—lives on hold until checkout—are partially in between here and there. It is here in this room, where time has no specific memory, that members of Philadelphia’s NAPOLEON have placed their Temporary Shelter.

Tiger Strikes Asteroid is pleased to announce its SATELLITE programing, that will focus entirely on the “artist-run space”, a thriving alternate model of support, exchange, and community to the established commercial market. From collectives with permanent spaces to one-person pop-up curatorial nomads, Tiger Strikes Asteroid will bring together an international representation of nearly 40 of these initiatives in our repurposed hotel. Each room will feature a different installation/environment by one of these groups.
