Ivanco Talevski: Proposals for Monuments

Proposals for Monuments
NAPOLEON member Christina P. Day hosts Philadelphia artist Ivanco Talevski
Proposals for Monuments will exhibit a collection of drawings, etchings, and paintings that catalog Talevski’s response to phenomena he struggles to understand daily. Talevski’s work catalogues a range of observations about the asinine side of human behavior from trivial annoyances to colossal injustices. In proposing monuments to these behaviors, their absurdity is revealed. All of the ideas in this body of work are further contextualized by the artist’s lasting fascination with Bertolt Brecht’s pointed description of the eponymous character in his poem, God of War.
