Live Performance ‘Collapsing Monument’ April 1st

NAPOLEON is pleased to announce additional programming to Ivanco Talevski’s Proposals for Monuments exhibition will be taking place during the opening reception, April 1st!

A live performance entitled Collapsing Monument by Vasko Dukovski will begin at  9pm inside the gallery space.  Collapsing Monument is a performance, manifested in sound, that reflects ongoing conversations between Talevski and Dukovski. The visual works in Proposals for Monuments act as a score for Dukovski’s search for, and development of, new sounds. The performance is driven by a sense of urgency to articulate form in a continuous state of collapse- the result, an endless revision that emphasizes the difference between prescribed and actual freedom.

Vasko Dukovski is a New York based multidisciplinary artist and diverse stylistic performer of the highest caliber.  Though classically trained, Dukovski sees no boundaries in music and musical styles.  An avid performer and advocate of Avant-garde Free Style and Contemporary classical music, Dukovski has collaborated with some of New York’s most respected ensembles including Argento New Music Ensemble, Bang on A Can All Stars, Either/OR Ensemble, Talea Ensemble, Wet Ink, ECCE-East Coast Contemporary Ensemble, Ensemble Pamplemousse, Lost Dog Ensemble, LPR Ensemble,  and The Knights Orchestra.  In addition to being a front man of his world music quartet Tavche Gravche, he is a member and a co-founder of Grneta Ensemble. Dukovski has recorded for Naxos American Classics, Sono Luminous/Dorian, INNOVA Recordings, Nun Such, Deutsche Grammophon, Albany Records, New World Recordings, Evolver Records, Chicken Madness, Furious Artisans and Navona Records.

Please join us April 1st at 9pm for this performance.
